Seven days!

by jacob bock

God told Moses to go up the mountain because He wanted to talk to him.  So up he goes and there he waits.

Ex. 24:16  Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

Seven days?  You mean Moses sat in the glory cloud for seven days without God saying a word?  I thought you said you wanted to tell me something.

Good thing he waited.  Then God spoke for 33 days!

I think we can learn a lesson.  We need time in God’s presence.  We cannot be in a hurry if we are wanting to hear from God.

“And when you pray, enter into your closet and shut the door…”

Shut the door and just linger there.

I wonder how many times we’ve left too soon?
