Want an equation? Be a mathematician!

by jacob bock

I don’t get it.

Scene one:  We have an amazing time of prayer before evangelism.  It is all we can do to peel ourselves away and go down to the street to preach.  When we get there… no one stops to listen and everything seems dead.

Scene two:  It is all we can do to get through the prayer time.  We constantly look at the clock.  When will this end?  Finally we get to the street and to our surprise, people stop before we even begin to preach!  The presence of God is so real!

Go figure!  I want an equation.

Do 1, 2 and 3 and God will move.

Last week I mentioned that to Adrianna, a fellow soul winner.  She looked at me and said matter-of-factly:

“If you wanted an equation, you should have been a mathematician, not an evangelist.”

So this work is by faith, not equation.  We have NO IDEA what God is doing and believe me, seeing and feeling is not a true barometer to measure God’s work.  Just be faithful to your calling.  Proclaim the Good News and God WILL work.

    Here’s a good equation:

    GIH + F = SS

Gospel in hand + Feet = Souls Saved
