So if we prove our love to God by our obedience, what do we prove when we disobey Him?

It proves my selfishness. Love gives, selfishness takes and keeps.

What’s the opposite of love?
Hatred.
I don´t understand…
Opposite of love is fear. God is love, whoever dwells in Him dwells in Love. God drives by Love, satan drives by FEAR. Whenever we not obey God, it’s because we move by fear, and not by love. God is the God of love, he ONLY loves obedience FROM LOVE (otherwise it is not his will 1 Cor 13, see how Jesus was against the Pharesees)
The case is; we need to learn to FEAR HIM, The Lord God almighty, The Father of Creation above all. FEAR HIM ALONE…. If we truly fear His greatness and in the same time His love, than obedience is easypeasy…
If not obedience, not love has been revealed.
In the same way God´s light (truth) casts darkness (lie) out, God´s love casts fear out.
Obedience flows from revelation of God´s Love to the human heart; when revealed, the only answer is obedience, no other one is possible.
Exactly! How deeper we get in the revelation of His love FOR US… How deeper we will long to Love Him, Obey Him, cast away with other fears and ONLY Fear that almighty precious God. (the Fear of the Lord is a total different fear, it is a deep respect and honour). Everything is connected in really taking the time to receive Gods love and wanting to grasp more of THAT LOVE.
Each time we are not letting His Love drive us… something else will… (fear)..

I think every believer is in journey to Home, so everyone has different degrees of knowledge and relationship with God, and some of them may do not know the wholeness of the love the Lord has for them yet, living with an orphan spirit, and need to have a revelation of the Father´s heart… but when the Love is revealed, casts fear out. Only that can do it!

‘We love Him because He loved us first’ and it´s revealed to us.
So, since fear is lack of love´s revelation, it´s not the opposite of love. It´s just lack of revealed love, of known love.
and since love implies passion, the opposite is apathy. I think so.
